Faculty

The Business School has in total 30 instructors, including 12 professors, 12 associate professors, 6 lecturers, and 9 doctoral advisers, working with the Department of Accounting and the Department of Corporate Finance. The Department of Accounting was crowned the Star Teaching Team of Beijing in 2008, and its course the Key Discipline of Beijing and the National Featuring Specialty in 2012.One of the instructors was elected the Chang Jiang Scholar, two receivers of the special government allowance of the state council, two included in the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University of the Ministry of Education, two National Accounting Academic Leaders of the Ministry of Finance, and one Beijing Star Teacher.

Distinctive Teaching

The Business School has always been focused on building quality courses and pursuing the continuous improvement of the quality of education. Till now, the Department of Accounting and the Department of Corporate Finance has two courses been awarded National Quality Courses (Corporate Financial Statement Analysis and Financial Management), five Beijing Quality Courses (Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, Corporate Financial Analysis, Corporate Finance, and International Financial Management), the course Financial Accounting for MBA in 2000 won the 2nd place in the Beijing Higher Education Outstanding Teaching Achievement award.

At the same time, the Business School has been proactively exploring the way to combine internationalization and quality in our courses, through insisting on English instruction of core courses, of which one has been awarded the National Model Course for Bilingual Teaching (International Financial Management).

Curriculum Geared Up with the Capital Market

In order to cater to the demands of the macro economy like modern capital market and Chinese economy transition and the requirements of corporate internationalization, the accounting programs at UIBE Business School have been offering a series of courses, including: Advanced Financial Accounting, Advanced Financial Management, Advanced Auditing, Advanced Cost and Managerial Accounting, Accounting Information and Capital Market Operations, Financial Statement Analysis and Security Valuation, International Financial Management, and International Finance.

Research Results

UIBE Business School follows the principle of combining research and teaching and attaching great importance to application for scientific research programs. We have been endeavoring to facilitate teaching through research and have made fruitful research results. In the recent five years, we have the following research and teaching programs of the Accounting Discipline finished or undergoing: three National Social Science Fund projects, four National Natural Science Fund projects, eight provincial, ministerial, or above awarded research results, dozens of influential academic papers published in journals and magazines like the Economic Research Journal, the Management World, the Accounting Research, the Auditing Research, and other publications. The International Accounting Talent Training Mode Research Project was initiated with Beijing Municipal Government in 2007 and the project Higher Education Featuring Specialty Building - Accounting was initiated with the Ministry of Education in 2009.The discipline now has a University level key research base - the Research Center for Finance and Accounting, and another two centers, the Research Center for International Tax Planning and the Research Center for Government Auditing offering a good platform for teachers to conduct research and exchange.

Highly Integrated Resources

The professional masters are all administrated by the UIBE Business School Center for MBA / MPAcc. Relying on the two decades experience in MBA teaching and management, the program MPAcc shares the resources for admission, teaching management, Beyond Class, and Career Development for MBA programs. Presently, MPAcc integrates with MBA students also through sharing 21 elective courses in the Beyond Class section, including: Orientation, Management Forum, Adjunct Course, and Clubs. Compared with the academic accounting degree, MPAcc emphasizes the full integration of academic quality and profession skills, and even more on the latter, focusing on the ability to detect, analyze, and solve the problems in real business environment.
